Mormonism is not Christianity

Don't be deceived.

The following link is an audio Bible study which is the primary basis of this post.

  1. How can you be so unchristian? What do you know about the mormon people? God has commanded us to love everyone; so what are you doing? Obviously you have some kind of hate towards the mormons for reasons unknown. They are good, God loving people who follow the teachings of Christ. Maybe one day you will know the truth, but until then, shame on you.

  2. Di,

Thank you for taking the time to listen to the referenced audio Bible study and review the text links that outline many of the scriptural differences between Mormonism and Christianity. It is obvious that you are capable of rightly dividing the Word of God.

I am thankful that you have commented on this post and am hopeful that you can answer some questions that no one seems able to answer. However, before we get too far, it is important to establish and agree upon the ten basic rules of orthodoxy that must be adhered to be Christian faith. Those rules are as follows:

    1) The Bible is the Word of God
    2) Jesus Christ was born of the virgin Mary
    3) Christ Jesus lived a sinless life
    4) Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ (not works)
    5) Hell exists
    6) God exists as a trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit)
    7) Jesus Christ is the One and Only True God
    8) Jesus Christ was resurrected
    9) Jesus Christ will return
    10) Heaven exists

With these ten rules being established, do we agree upon them?

If so, please help me answer this two-part question:

Why would a Christian refer to themselves as a Mormon? In other words, what is it about Jesus Christ (God) that makes Him seem less than enough to the Mormon?

For the Christian, the simple gospel of Jesus Christ is more than enough: The virgin birth, Christ's miracle life showing the will of God, the shedding of His innocent blood for the remission of sins, and the resurrection/ascension.

"And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified" (1 Corinthians 2:1-2).

Praying blessings and grace to you through the powerful name of Jesus,

    Matthew Foutch
