Colossians 3 KJV
17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
"giving thanks to God and the Father by him"
Notice that the wording of this passage implies that "God" is a separate entity from "the Father".
It doesn't say "God the Father". It says "God" and "the Father".
This requires further study.
